The history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices which brought the Sultans of Oman and the beginnings of the infamous slave trade. This is a Half Day Tour. You will be picked up from your hotel at around 8:30 am. You will be transferred to Kizimbani Village north of Zanzibar Town in the center of the island. Visit a local spice plantation and get a detailed description about a variety of spices and their uses in cooking and cosmetics. You will be fascinated by the sheer number of spices produced and their incredible value for many ailments. This is also the cheapest place to purchase spices and the famous spice oils. Furthermore you will get an insight in their everyday work as the procedure of harvesting spices and fruits. Get a taste of a fresh coconut straight from the palm and enjoy the rush green environment you are in. To conclude your trip you will get a tasting of different fresh local fruits. Afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel with a memorable impression of the local farming culture, living and nature.
